Earlier today, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao called on Germany to play an active role in encouraging the Dutch government to resolve the remaining issues over chipmaker Nexperia.
During a video call with Germany's Economy Minister Katherina Reiche, Wang argued that the Netherlands' improper interference in corporate affairs is the core cause of the dispute. "The resulting turmoil and disruption in the global semiconductor supply chain rests with the Netherlands," he said.
Wang emphasized that Berlin's diplomatic influence could help secure a swift, balanced outcome—one that safeguards stability for tech firms, startups, and the wider international market.
As tensions over Nexperia continue, observers around the world are watching how Germany’s response will shape the future of cross-border cooperation on critical technology issues.
