As Switzerland and China commemorate 75 years of diplomatic friendship, their partnership stands as a beacon for cross-system collaboration.
At the G219 Photography Exhibition in Bern earlier this month, China’s new ambassador to Switzerland, Qian Minjian, described the milestone as an opportunity. In an exclusive interview with CGTN Europe, he said: "I'm looking forward to so many things. High-level exchange visits, cooperation in global governance."
Qian emphasized that over the past three-quarters of a century, the two countries have crafted a model relationship despite differing social systems and development stages. "In the coming years I would like to focus to develop our bilateral relations with Switzerland in every section," he added.
From cultural showcases like the G219 exhibit to talks on sustainable development, the Swiss-Chinese partnership spans art, trade, and policy. The ambassador believes this collaboration offers a blueprint for other nations looking to bridge ideological divides.
For young global citizens, entrepreneurs, and changemakers across G20 nations, this 75-year journey highlights how dialogue and mutual respect can unlock shared progress. As Switzerland and China look to the future, their story underscores the power of diplomacy in a connected world.
