CMG and IOC Seal Media Rights Deal for 2026-2032 Olympics

In a landmark ceremony in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, China Media Group (CMG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) signed a long-term media rights agreement covering six Olympic editions from 2026 to 2032. The deal, announced just hours before the opening of China's 15th National Games, underscores a shared commitment to sportsmanship, peace and unity.

IOC President Kirsty Coventry, on her first visit to the Chinese mainland since taking office, highlighted the timing's significance and hailed the agreement as a new chapter in CMG-IOC relations. Former IOC President Thomas Bach, also in attendance, praised CMG's professionalism and expressed confidence that Coventry will elevate this partnership to new heights.

Under the agreement, CMG holds exclusive broadcast rights in the Chinese mainland and Macao SAR (Special Administrative Region) for the 2026 and 2030 Winter Olympics, the 2028 and 2032 Summer Olympics, and the 2026 and 2030 Youth Olympic Games. CMG and the IOC also unveiled a creative logo for CMG's coverage of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, setting the tone for a fresh visual identity.

For young global citizens, business innovators and sports fans across G20 nations, this partnership promises seamless access to live events, highlights and storytelling from one of the world's biggest stages. Stay tuned as CMG and the IOC bring every record-breaking moment directly to audiences in the Chinese mainland and Macao SAR.
