IKEA China Confident in Chinese mainland’s Growth at CIIE

The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off in Shanghai, bringing together global brands and partners to showcase innovation and trade opportunities. Among them, IKEA China’s senior vice president, Aleksey Efremov, sat down with CGTN to discuss his confidence in the Chinese mainland’s growth story and how the company is learning from local consumers.

“For us, the Chinese mainland market is full of possibilities,” Efremov said. “Our achievements here with local partners are not only a testament to the strength of our collaboration, but also a learning ground for global promotion.” He highlighted that insights gathered from regional shopping patterns, digital engagement and sustainability initiatives are informing IKEA’s strategies worldwide.

With the CIIE platform, IKEA China plans to share its best practices in supply chain management, product design and customer experience with peers and policymakers. The goal? To foster even stronger relationships across retail ecosystems and tap into emerging consumer trends, from eco-friendly materials to smart home solutions.

As young global citizens and business enthusiasts tune in, the message is clear: the Chinese mainland remains a vibrant testbed for innovation. IKEA China’s playbook here could very well shape the next wave of international retail success stories.
