Connecting Generations: Li Hongzhong Calls on Youth to Strengthen China-Vietnam Ties

At a high-level meeting in Beijing on Tuesday, Li Hongzhong, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, called on young people from China and Vietnam to deepen cultural and educational ties, laying the groundwork for a community with a shared future.

Speaking with Bui Quang Huy, vice president of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Li emphasized the power of youth exchanges in shaping tomorrow's bilateral relationship.

Li highlighted the "Red Study Tours" initiative, inviting Vietnamese youth to the Chinese mainland to explore revolutionary heritage sites that anchor decades of friendship. "These immersive visits offer firsthand insight into our shared history," he said, urging both sides to build on guidelines set by top leaders of the two parties and countries.

By aligning with top leaders' vision, both sides aim to encourage young people to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance for the region.

Bui Quang Huy voiced readiness to deepen these youth exchanges, signaling Vietnam's commitment to nurturing the next generation of cross-border changemakers.

For global youth navigating a digitally connected world, initiatives like these offer blueprints for building lasting international partnerships through immersive learning and shared histories.
