Guangdong Dives to Gold at 15th National Games

At the 15th National Games in the Chinese mainland, Guangdong stole the spotlight by clinching the first diving gold medal in the women's team event, setting the tone for a thrilling aquatic competition.

The action kicked off on the synchronized 3-meter springboard, where Olympic champion Chen Yiwen partnered with world champion Lin Shan. Their precision and synchronicity earned them 225.63 points, securing top spot on the podium. Another Guangdong duo, Mei Yingxin and Ou Yangyu, showcased strong form to take bronze.

On the 10-meter platform, Sichuan's world champion Lu Wei uncharacteristically struggled with a few execution faults. Seizing the moment, Guangdong's Wang Weiying delivered a near-flawless performance, racking up 372.70 points to secure victory and Guangdong's second gold of the day.

Back on the 3-meter springboard, Chen Yiwen continued her winning streak, dominating with a score of 373.05 points. Lin Shan was hot on her heels, finishing just three points behind in a showcase of elite talent. As the competition unfolds, Guangdong has set a high bar, and eyes are now on the next wave of divers ready to make a splash.
