T1400 Unmanned Helicopter Soars into Tonne-Class Era

Harbin United Aircraft Technology Co., Ltd., part of the United Aircraft Group, achieved a milestone when its T1400 unmanned helicopter completed a successful maiden flight in Harbin, the Chinese mainland’s Heilongjiang Province.

During the test, the T1400 executed hovering, route flight and precision landing, demonstrating its advanced low-altitude maneuverability.

Weighing in at a maximum takeoff weight of 1,400 kilograms, the helicopter marks a leap into the "tonne-class" era for unmanned aerial systems, featuring both high payload and extended endurance.

  • Payload: 650 kilograms (equivalent to more than ten adults)
  • Endurance: Over eight hours of continuous flight
  • Service ceiling: Up to 6,500 meters
  • Operating temperature range: -40°C to 55°C
  • Certified wind resistance for strong conditions

Chairman Tian Gangyin said the T1400 tackles long-standing payload and endurance limits in industrial drones, unlocking new potential for remote operations in extreme environments.

This success in the Chinese mainland signals a new chapter for low-altitude aviation, as innovators worldwide look to scale up drone performance for diverse missions.
