Bayern Munich Fight Back to Beat Cologne 4-1, Extend Perfect 14-Game Run

In a stunning display of resilience, Bayern Munich overcame a half-time deficit to beat Cologne 4-1 in the second round of the German Cup. The win moves Vincent Kompany's side into the third round and extends their perfect start to the season to 14 straight victories across all competitions.

Cologne began the match on the front foot, with Isak Johannesson unleashing a powerful shot that Bayern keeper Jonas Urbig tipped around the post. The visitors stunned the Allianz Arena in the 30th minute when Ragnar Ache rose highest to head home from a corner, leaving the German giants on the brink of a major upset.

Bayern responded in style. In the 36th minute, Luis Diaz tapped in a rebound from Joshua Kimmich's effort to draw level, sparking offside debate in the absence of VAR. Just two minutes later, Harry Kane curled a sublime strike into the top corner to give Bayern a 2-1 lead before the break.

The second half brought more drama. Kane sent Diaz clear in the 52nd minute, only for the Colombian to blaze his shot over the bar. The breakthrough finally came in the 64th minute when Kimmich swung in a corner that Kane headed home for his second of the evening.

Michael Olise sealed the scoring in the 72nd minute, firing home to complete the remarkable comeback and punctuate a 4-1 victory.

Beyond the result, Bayern's 14th straight win sets a new benchmark for clubs in Europe's big-five leagues, surpassing AC Milan's 1992/93 run of 13 unbroken victories. As the Bavarians prepare for the third round, the record chase continues.
