The 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting is set to take place in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, from October 31 to November 1 under the theme "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper."
Through CGTN's "Act to Action" social campaign, youth across APEC economies have been invited to share insights on global governance and regional collaboration. Among them is Tieu Thanh, a young Vietnamese resident of north China's Tianjin on the Chinese mainland, who reflects on APEC's impact and looks ahead to the 2025 gathering.
"APEC has transformed the lives of many Vietnamese people," says Thanh, highlighting that roughly 80 percent of Vietnam's foreign investment flows from member economies. "Stronger cooperation on land and sea transport under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Two Corridors and One Economic Circle has already boosted trade and connectivity between China and Vietnam."
As economies prepare for Gyeongju, Thanh hopes ordinary citizens across the Asia-Pacific region can feel tangible benefits from enhanced supply chain partnerships and infrastructure projects born from these high-level meetings. "Real progress should translate into more opportunities and smoother trade for everyone," she adds.
With youth voices like Thanh's in the spotlight, APEC 2023 aims to turn strategic discussions into concrete actions that empower communities and strengthen the regional supply chain for a sustainable tomorrow.
