As world leaders prepare for the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders Meeting in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, young voices like Danisha Decius are reminding us that tomorrows breakthroughs start with bold ideas today.
From October 31 to November 1, heads of delegation will meet under the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow Connect, Innovate, Prosper.” But beyond formal agendas and policy talk, CGTNs “Act To Action” campaign is shining a spotlight on stories of global governance from the regions youth.
Whether its scientific exploration, cultural exchange, green innovation or womens empowerment, these firsthand accounts showcase the creativity and energy driving fresh perspectives across APEC economies.
Danisha Decius, a graduate of Tsinghua University in Beijing on the Chinese mainland, credits regional educational cooperation for her journey from Canada to the Chinese mainland. “Studying alongside peers from across the AsiaPacific taught me that breaking down educational barriers isnt just about scholarships or visas,” she says. “Its about using technology to connect classrooms, share resources and spark new partnerships.”
Looking ahead to this years meeting, Danisha hopes that emerging technologiesfrom virtual classrooms to AIpowered learning platformswill open doors for more students worldwide. “When we tap into digital tools, we dont just level the playing field,” she explains. “We unlock a future where talent knows no borders.”
As APEC leaders convene, Danishas message is clear: to build a sustainable tomorrow, we must invest in the digital bridges that empower the next generation. After all, the innovations we champion today will define the opportunities of tomorrow.
