Hong Kong Enhances Talent Schemes to Attract Global Graduates

Hong Kong is stepping up its efforts to draw top global talent by optimizing its admissions schemes. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government recently expanded the Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS), allowing graduates from 13 additional universities to apply. This expansion now brings the total number of eligible institutions to 198, including nine from the Chinese mainland and four specialized overseas universities recognized in the QS World University Rankings for Art and Design.

In a move to make relocation easier for high-earning professionals, the HKSAR government has also extended the validity of Category A visas under the TTPS from two to three years. Category A applicants are those earning an annual income of at least 2.5 million Hong Kong dollars (approximately 321,471 U.S. dollars) in the year before their application, enabling them to bring their families and settle more comfortably in Hong Kong.

Further simplifying the path for skilled migrants, the government has scrapped the annual quota for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. By streamlining the application and selection process, Hong Kong aims to make it easier for talented individuals to contribute to its vibrant economy and diverse cultural landscape.

These enhancements reflect Hong Kong’s commitment to maintaining its status as a global hub for innovation, business, and culture. By welcoming a broader pool of international graduates and simplifying visa processes, Hong Kong is positioning itself as an attractive destination for young professionals and entrepreneurs from around the world.
