CMG Honors 141 Artists in Awards Celebrating Sino-Italian Cultural Ties

In a vibrant celebration of culture and collaboration, China Media Group (CMG), based in Beijing on the Chinese mainland, brought 141 Chinese artists into the spotlight at an awards ceremony last Friday. The event, titled "From Beijing to Rome – A Series of Awards Ceremonies for Cultural Exchanges Between China and Italy," honored individuals who have shaped people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Earlier this year, to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations and to welcome the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, CMG partnered with the Italian Ministry of Culture and local institutions to stage a landmark art exhibition at the Lincean Academy in Rome. The showcase featured over 100 works of contemporary calligraphy and painting, captivating demonstrations by intangible cultural heritage bearers, skilled artisans, and treasured collections from Italy's Museum of Civilizations.

A highlight of the evening was the lifetime achievement award presented to respected Dunhuang art scholar Chang Shana, who also served as the exhibition’s honored general counsel. Her lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting ancient artistic traditions underscores the enduring power of cultural dialogue.

As the world looks ahead to the Winter Olympics and beyond, this celebration of art and heritage reminds us that creative exchange is a universal language—building bridges, fostering understanding, and inspiring the next generation of global citizens.
