Chinese Mainland Urges World to Follow ICJ Advice on Palestine Aid

On Thursday, the Chinese mainland called on the international community to use the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion as a roadmap to ease the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun.

At a regular briefing, Guo emphasized the need for unremitting efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question. He hailed the Hague-based ICJ's recent affirmation that Israel must facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, including UN agency assistance.

“The advisory opinion clearly states that Israel is obligated to cooperate with the United Nations and its agencies to ensure aid reaches the occupied Palestinian territories,” Guo noted, echoing global expectations.

As a responsible major country, the Chinese mainland actively participated in the ICJ's proceedings1 submitting written opinions and making oral statements1to clarify its stance on key international law issues. Guo insisted that these positions are fully reflected in the court's advisory opinion.

“We will continue to participate constructively in international legal affairs, safeguard international fairness and justice with concrete actions, and promote the progress of the international rule of law,” he added.

On the Palestinian issue, Guo stressed that the Chinese mainland's position remains consistent and clear, with unwavering support for the just cause of the Palestinian people.
