In a clear-cut response to Washington, the Chinese foreign ministry on Tuesday reiterated that a tariff war or trade war serves no one's interests. This statement came after the US threatened the Chinese mainland with possible export controls over airplane parts.
“China's position on handling economic and trade issues with the US is consistent and clear-cut,” spokesperson Guo Jiakun told reporters at a regular press briefing.
Guo emphasized that the Chinese mainland and the US should resolve relevant issues through consultations on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit.
