The 138th Canton Fair kicked off on October 15 at the Canton Fair Complex in Pazhou, Haizhu District of Guangzhou, Chinese mainland, showcasing the resilience and dynamism of global trade. Spanning three phases through November 4, this edition has drawn attention worldwide with multiple new records.
Record-Breaking Participation
For the first time, the fair featured 74,600 booths and welcomed over 32,000 exhibiting enterprises—both historic highs. The 1.55 million-square-meter exhibition area was organized into 55 sections across 13 professional categories, including 3,600 newcomers and 2,640 brand-name booths.
Global Buyer Engagement
Pre-registered overseas buyers exceeded 240,000, representing 218 countries and regions—a 10% increase from last year. Notably, participation from the EU, the United States, and Belt and Road partner countries surged, underscoring the fair’s global appeal.
Strong Trade Momentum
On opening day, local delegations reported robust results: Shenzhen secured $115 million in transactions—four times the previous autumn session’s first-day volume—while Tianjin recorded $27 million in intended deals. These figures highlight the fair’s role as a catalyst for real-world business connections.
As the Canton Fair continues, businesses and buyers across industries are leveraging this platform to forge new partnerships and explore emerging market trends. Stay tuned for more insights as the numbers keep climbing.
