China Backs Pakistan-Afghanistan Ceasefire
At a press briefing on Thursday, spokesperson Lin Jian announced that China welcomes and supports Pakistan and Afghanistan’s decision to implement a temporary ceasefire. He noted this move serves the common interests of both sides and bolsters regional peace and stability.
Lin Jian emphasized that Pakistan and Afghanistan are friendly neighbors of China. He urged both parties to show restraint, achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, and resolve differences through dialogue and consultation. “This serves the common interests of both sides and is conducive to regional peace and stability,” he said.
