FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2025 Breaks Ground in Deqing

The 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Tour made its debut in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province on the east coast of the Chinese mainland from October 11 to 12. Adding Deqing as a new stop was a strategic move to tap into emerging Asian sports markets and introduce 3×3 basketball to a wider audience.

Over two days, 14 top-tier squads from countries such as China, Serbia, France, and Germany battled for the championship trophy. The world-number-one Ub team and France’s Olympic silver-medalists in the Toulouse squad brought high-stakes competition, while home-based Chongming and Shanghai teams fueled local enthusiasm.

This expansion highlights 3×3 basketball’s rapid growth across Asia, driven by its fast-paced format and appeal to younger fans. By engaging local communities and showcasing world-class talent, FIBA aims to build momentum for grassroots programs and strengthen regional circuits.

Looking ahead, the Deqing stop could pave the way for more international events in emerging markets across the region. With 3×3 basketball now an Olympic discipline, organizers and cities are eager to capitalize on its global buzz and connect with a new generation of athletes and fans.
