China, DPRK to Deepen Practical Cooperation: Premier Li Qiang

At a pivotal meeting in Beijing on Saturday, Chinese premier Li Qiang and DPRK premier Pak Thae Song laid out an ambitious roadmap to deepen practical cooperation between the Chinese mainland and the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.

Li said China will stand by the WPK in leading DPRK people along a development path tailored to their national conditions and pledged to implement top-level consensus by enhancing high-level exchanges and strategic communication.

The leaders underscored the importance of strengthening fields such as youth engagement, cultural exchange, education, arts and sports to nurture the profound friendship between both nations. As both governments advance their socialist construction, they will seek new avenues to boost economic and infrastructure collaboration.

This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the Chinese Peoples Volunteers entering the DPRK during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. Li and Pak agreed to co-host commemorative activities, reinforcing historic bonds and shared sacrifice.

Against a backdrop of shifting global dynamics, the two premiers emphasised unity in multilateral forums to safeguard international fairness and justice while consolidating core interests and joint development goals.

For Pak, the DPRK remains committed to consolidating unbreakable ties with China. He reaffirmed that cooperation in governance, cultural exchanges and multilateral collaboration will chart a new era in China-DPRK relations.
