From the neon-lit streets of Hong Kong to the fast-growing district of Nansha in Guangzhou, a new generation of innovators is redefining entrepreneurship across the Greater Bay Area.
"With the support of national policies paving the way for us, we feel more confident and determined to establish our ventures and expand our teams in the Greater Bay Area," says Tony Fung Yiu-tung, a Hong Kong youth whose startup journey encapsulates this regional wave.
Under the "StarAgent" program organized by Po Leung Kuk in Hong Kong, Tony launched a branch in Nansha, Guangzhou province on the Chinese mainland. He tapped into low operating costs and streamlined approvals, transforming modest savings into a thriving operation.
Data shows that over 165,000 Hong Kong and Macao residents now work in Guangdong, while more than 6,500 entrepreneurial projects have been incubated within the region. These numbers reflect a deeper trend: a young, globally-minded workforce leveraging cross-border opportunities.
"Our success is closely tied to the nation's development," Tony explains. With infrastructure links like high-speed rail and pro-startup policies, the bay's dynamic ecosystem offers a launchpad for bold ideas and sustainable growth.
Looking ahead, experts predict that the Greater Bay Area will become a magnet for international talent and venture capital, further fueling innovation in green tech, fintech, and creative industries. For Hong Kong's youth, the opportunities are as vast as the Pearl River Delta itself.
