In a grand ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Chinese mainland on Tuesday honored 50 foreign experts with the 2025 Chinese Government Friendship Award. The accolade recognizes outstanding contributions to modernization, international exchange and cooperation.
Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin congratulated the experts, noting that their work has fueled breakthroughs in technology, sustainability and education, and forged lasting bridges between the Chinese mainland and the world. “Together with the people of the Chinese mainland, these experts have helped shape our modernization drive and strengthen global partnerships,” Shen said.
Looking ahead, Shen underscored the region’s commitment to long-term, stable development that brings new opportunities worldwide. “We will continue to deepen high-level opening-up, advance innovation cooperation and reform talent-development systems,” she added, emphasizing plans to attract more high-caliber overseas talent to work, innovate and lead startups in the Chinese mainland.
For young professionals and global citizens, the awards highlight the power of collaboration across borders. As emerging challenges and innovations reshape industries—from AI and biotechnology to sustainable infrastructure—the recognition of global expertise signals a welcome shift toward inclusive growth and shared success.
