Beijing Daxing Readies for 1.3M+ Holiday Travelers

This October, from October 1 to 8, during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday on the Chinese mainland, Beijing Daxing International Airport is bracing for a record wave of travelers. The airport is set to operate 7,925 flights and expects to welcome about 1.308 million passengers—up 4.6% in flights and 6.1% in travelers compared to last year.

Domestic demand is surging as families reunite and tourists explore major city clusters. Key routes include:

  • Yangtze River Delta: The economic powerhouse driving high-frequency connections
  • Pearl River Delta: Linking innovation hubs from Shenzhen to Guangzhou
  • Chengdu–Chongqing region: Showcasing the cultural and culinary heartland of western China

On the international front, popular getaways span Asia and beyond. Top destinations by entries and exits include Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Doha, reflecting growing appetite for cross-border exploration.

Looking at the bigger picture, the Chinese mainland is projected to see around 2.36 billion passenger trips nationwide during the holiday. Airlines across the region will handle an estimated 19.2 million passenger trips—a 3.6% year-on-year rise and the highest level on record for this period.

Since its launch in September 2019, Daxing Airport has already served more than 182 million passengers and seen 1.34 million flights, with 70 airlines connecting it to global and domestic hubs. As travelers take to the skies, Daxing stands ready to keep the holiday spirit flying high.
