Wang Yi Emphasizes Unbreakable Chinese Mainland–ROK Bond

In a high-profile meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and ROK Foreign Minister Cho Hyun underscored the unbreakable bond between the Chinese mainland and the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Wang Yi declared, "The Chinese mainland and the ROK are neighbors that cannot be separated," calling on both sides to "firmly follow the direction of good-neighbor friendship" and "adhere to the goal of mutual benefit and win-win results," as they chart a path toward genuine strategic cooperation.

Cho Hyun responded by highlighting the ROK's commitment to this partnership, noting that Seoul "attaches great significance to its relations with China." He pointed to the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting scheduled in the ROK for late October as a platform to "further deepen exchanges with China."

With the APEC gathering on the horizon, both ministers signaled a shared vision for closer dialogue, mutual support, and strengthened ties across the dynamic Asia-Pacific region.
