UN Welcomes High-Level Trade Dialogues Between Chinese Mainland and US

At a UN daily briefing on Monday, spokesperson Stephane Dujarric welcomed high-level dialogues between the delegations from the Chinese mainland and the United States. "We welcome and encourage high-level dialogues between the world’s two largest economies," he said, emphasizing their influence on the global economy.

The two-day talks in Madrid, from Sunday to Monday, brought together senior officials to tackle economic and trade issues of mutual concern. According to Li Chenggang, the international trade representative of the Chinese mainland and vice minister of commerce, discussions were "candid, in-depth and constructive," covering market access, digital platforms including TikTok, and more.

Li noted that both sides "fully recognized that a stable economic and trade relationship between the Chinese mainland and the United States is of great significance," not just for themselves but for broader global stability and growth.

For entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and policy watchers, these negotiations signal a renewed commitment to dialogue over unilateral measures. As attention turns from Madrid back to markets worldwide, the outcome could shape cooperation in areas like green technology, data governance, and beyond.

Young global citizens and changemakers tracking these talks will find a case study in how diplomacy, commerce, and technology intersect to influence the economic landscape across borders.
