Gaza City Strikes Intensify as Residents Refuse Evacuation

In the heart of Gaza City, over a million people are sheltering amidst rubble and chaos as Israeli military operations intensify. Local health authorities report that at least 40 Palestinians were killed in Fridays strikes, many in densely populated districts where evacuation orders confront a stark reality: there is nowhere safe to go.

One of the deadliest blows struck a residential building in the Al-Tuwam area in the north, where medical sources say 14 civilians lost their lives in a single attack. Meanwhile, southern Gaza saw multiple strikes targeting zones housing families who fled the north, adding to a mounting death toll.

Despite calls to move south, an estimated 10 percent of Gaza City residents have left since the Israeli plan to seize full control was announced a month ago. "We cannot leaveit is simply too dangerous out there," said a local aid volunteer who has witnessed overcrowded shelters and dwindling supplies.

To prepare for a potential influx, the Israeli army expanded a corridor known as "Crossing 147" in the southern Gaza Strip, aiming to boost aid deliveries to a designated humanitarian zone. Yet the United Nations and many foreign governments have condemned the evacuation order, demanded a ceasefire and highlighted dire conditions in that zone, from scarce water to overcrowded tents.

As bombs fall and families weigh impossible choices, the situation in Gaza City underscores a wider humanitarian crisis. With digital campaigns amplifying calls for aid and global policy debates heating up, the world watches as residents navigate survival under relentless fire.
