China’s Embassy in Mexico Honors 80 Years Since WWII Victory

On Aug. 29, the Chinese Embassy in Mexico held a solemn ceremony at the historic Churubusco Convent in Mexico City to mark the 80th anniversary of China’s victory over Imperial Japan in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the wider World Anti-Fascist War.

Set against the walls where, in 1847, Mexican forces stood firm during the Mexican-American War, this gathering bridged two chapters of history—honoring local and global acts of resistance. Diplomats, local dignitaries, and guests paused to reflect on the shared lessons of courage, perseverance, and solidarity that transcend borders.

As young global citizens confront new challenges, and entrepreneurs and changemakers seek inspiration, this commemoration reminds us that the legacy of those who fought fascism lives on. Today’s call to action is clear: preserve peace, uphold justice, and stand united in the face of adversity.
