Ronaldo Hits Century for Al Nassr, But Super Cup Slips Away

Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in history while Al Nassr fell short at the Saudi Super Cup final in the Hong Kong SAR on Saturday. The 40-year-old superstar struck in the first half to net his 100th competitive goal for his fourth club, joining an elite list of players who have hit century marks at multiple teams.

Despite Ronaldo’s milestone strike, Al Nassr and Al Ahli finished 2-2 after 90 minutes. A tense penalty shootout saw Al Ahli edge the contest 5-3, lifting the trophy and denying Ronaldo his first major piece of silverware since moving to the Saudi side in December 2022.

Ronaldo’s 100-goal haul for Al Nassr adds to a towering career tally: 450 for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, and 101 for Juventus. His latest achievement also sees him surpass legends like Isidro Langara, Romario and Neymar, becoming the first player to reach 100 competitive goals for four different clubs. On the international stage, he remains Portugal’s leading scorer with 138 goals.

For Al Nassr and their fans, the loss highlights both the heights Ronaldo can reach and the collective work still required to secure major titles. As the Saudi Super Cup sets the tone for the season ahead, eyes will be on how Ronaldo and his teammates respond in the months to come.
