A Global Campaign for Shared Stories
As the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary in 2025, CGTN is partnering with digital storytellers around the world for One Home: Shared Future. This visual storytelling campaign invites young voices to imagine and share hopes for humanity’s next chapter.
From Online Videos to Real-World Impact
South Korean vlogger Kim Jeong-won is one of the campaign’s rising stars. After watching the UN’s fundraising videos, she began donating regularly to UNICEF. For Kim, what started as casual clicks on social media turned into a personal mission.
Previously, wars, famines, and refugee crises felt like distant news items. But as she engaged with the UN’s stories, these issues became personal. “I realized people’s struggles aren’t just headlines,” she says. “They’re real lives that deserve our attention.”
Broadening Perspectives
This shift in perspective has had a ripple effect in Kim’s life. She now actively follows global news on conflict zones, climate disasters, and humanitarian aid efforts. Her vlogs weave together personal reflections with footage from around the world, sparking conversations with her audience about responsibility and empathy.
Connecting Across Borders
Kim’s experience underscores a powerful truth: storytelling can bridge cultures and inspire action. By sharing her journey, she fuels a larger movement of digital-savvy global citizens who see themselves as part of a shared human family.
As the One Home: Shared Future campaign continues, it poses a simple question to all of us: What is your story? And how will you contribute to a world shaped by solidarity and hope?
