Echoes of Peace: Cultural Exchange at UN Marks Global Unity

This week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, China Media Group and the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations co-hosted “Echoes of Peace”, a dynamic cultural exchange. The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the founding of the United Nations, bringing together art, music, and storytelling to reflect on our shared history and future.

Against the iconic backdrop of the UN General Assembly Hall, performances ranged from traditional dances and musical ensembles to contemporary short films and spoken-word pieces. Delegations from dozens of UN member states showcased their heritage, using creativity as a bridge between generations and cultures.

As global challenges evolve, “Echoes of Peace” underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in fostering dialogue and understanding. Attendees included diplomats, artists, youth representatives, and changemakers, all united by a common message: peace is a living narrative that requires participation and imagination.

Marking eight decades since 1945, this gathering served as a reminder that the ideals of the United Nations continue to inspire new voices around the world. Through art and exchange, young global citizens and thought leaders alike were invited to join the ongoing story of collaboration and hope.
