In an effort to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Israeli military announced a daily pause in operations across three designated zones: Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City. The pause runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time (0700–1700 GMT) each day until further notice.
Alongside the daily pauses, designated secure routes will operate from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., providing a 17-hour window for aid convoys, medical teams and residents to move more safely through the enclave.
These measures create regular windows—10 hours of calm and 17 hours of safer passage—that could enable quicker delivery of food, water and medical supplies to communities under strain.
The military statement emphasized that these pauses and safe corridors will remain in place until further notice, marking a potential shift toward prioritizing humanitarian access amidst ongoing challenges in Gaza.
