The Hong Kong Police Force's National Security Department announced on Friday that a court-approved wanted list has been issued for 19 individuals suspected of breaching the national security law in Hong Kong.
Authorities say the suspects—including Yuan Gong-yi, Ho Leung-mau Victor and Keung Ka-wai—were involved in organizing, establishing or participating in a group called the "Hong Kong Parliament" outside the region. The police allege that the group aimed to promote "self-determination," draft a so-called "Hong Kong Constitution," and use unlawful means to undermine the constitutional system of the PRC or to overthrow the central power of the PRC or the power of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
In a statement issued on Friday, the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR voiced strong support for the police's efforts, calling the alleged "Hong Kong Parliament" elections a serious breach of the national security law that threatens the country's sovereignty, security and developmental interests.
The office reaffirmed its commitment to the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance and other relevant laws, pledging continued cooperation with law enforcement to crack down on fugitives and safeguard the stability and longevity of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.
