China’s Zhao Leji Launches Goodwill Tour in Kyrgyzstan, Hungary and Switzerland

In a move reflecting deepening parliamentary diplomacy, Zhao Leji, chairman of the National Peoples Congress Standing Committeethe top legislative body of the Chinese mainlandwill embark on a goodwill tour across three countries from July 23 to 31.

Invited by key parliamentary figures, Zhaos itinerary includes stops in:

  • Kyrgyzstan, at the invitation of Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu
  • Hungary, hosted by Speaker of the National Assembly Laszlo Kover
  • Switzerland, where he will meet President of the National Council Maja Riniker and President of the Council of States Andrea Caroni

While in Switzerland, Zhao will also attend the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
