Messenger of Light: Wang Lingling Powers Angola with Solar Tech

In Luanda’s sun-soaked streets, locals greet every new solar panel with a warm nickname: 'Messenger of Light.'

Wang Lingling, an entrepreneur from Dezhou in Shandong Province on the Chinese mainland, has spent the last 14 years building three photovoltaic factories in Angola. She’s brought Chinese solar technology and products to communities eager for reliable, clean energy.

Her factories have rolled out solar panels that power homes, classrooms, and clinics—bringing brighter evenings and new opportunities to communities across Angola.

Wang credits much of this progress to the Belt and Road Initiative, which has woven stronger ties between China and Angola. For her, the initiative is more than infrastructure—it’s a living partnership that bridges regions and minds.

Looking ahead, she hopes her work becomes an 'eternal flame' of cooperation, cultivating friendship seeds that will deepen Angola-China bonds for generations to come.
