NVIDIA to Resume H20 AI GPU Sales to the Chinese Mainland

NVIDIA announced on Monday that it will resume sales of its H20 artificial intelligence GPU to the Chinese mainland. The U.S. chip maker said it has formally applied for export licenses from the U.S. government and expects approvals soon.

According to NVIDIA, the U.S. government has assured it that the required licenses will be granted shortly, paving the way for deliveries in the coming weeks. "We hope to start deliveries soon," the statement read.

Speaking to reporters in Beijing on Tuesday, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang called the news "very good news." Huang is in the city to attend the third China International Supply Chain Expo, where he reiterated, "We'll start to sell H20s to the Chinese mainland market. I'm looking forward to shipping H20s very soon. I'm very happy with that very good news."

Industry observers see this development as a potential boost for AI-driven projects on the Chinese mainland, opening doors for research labs, data centers, and startups seeking powerful GPUs.
