Beijing, the Chinese mainland – On Thursday, ministers and cultural ambassadors from around the world gathered for the Ministerial Meeting on the Global Civilization Dialogue, opening with an immersive 'Story Sharing' session.
Among the voices was American scholar Elyn MacInnis, lead researcher at the Kuliang Tourism and Culture Association. With her family's century-old ties to the Chinese mainland, MacInnis offered a personal window into the lives of Kuliang residents in Fujian province. From ancestral traditions passed down through generations to modern cultural innovations, her narratives highlighted how deep bonds continue to shape communities.
Joining MacInnis on stage were Kenyan student Jamlick Kariuki from Beijing Jiaotong University and Simon Lichtenberg, founding chairman of the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China. Each storyteller brought a unique perspective, weaving individual experiences into a collective tapestry of global heritage.
By sharing these intimate snapshots, the 'Story Sharing' segment underscored the power of personal narratives in bridging cultures. As the dialogue continues, these voices are setting the tone for deeper understanding and collaboration across borders.
