At the sideline of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Beijing, Zhou Qing'an, dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, highlighted the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and international cooperation.
“AI is reshaping global dynamics and amplifying voices from the Global South,” Zhou said, noting that the technology is also fostering cross-border collaboration among educators and students worldwide.
In education, AI is transforming classrooms into digital spaces, empowering students to create impactful content online.
However, Zhou emphasized that this shift also demands teachers to adapt and promote teamwork. “Effective collaboration between educators and learners will be key to unlocking AI's full potential,” he added.
As AI continues to evolve, partnerships across institutions and regions will become increasingly important. By combining human insight with AI-driven tools, the future of education could become more inclusive and collaborative on a global scale.
