Youth Choir Unites China-U.S. Voices for Peace

Under the autumn sky of Fuzhou, voices from two sides of the Pacific blended in a single melody of hope and peace. Dozens of members from the American One Voice Children's Choir joined students from Fuzhou No.16 High School to perform the Chinese ballad "Ru Yuan" (As You Wish), unleashing a ripple of emotion through the auditorium.

Earlier this year, the American choir had moved audiences at Beijing's Temple of Heaven on the Chinese mainland with their stirring performance. Today, their shared song in Fuzhou marks another milestone in the "Bond with Kuliang: 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival," a cultural exchange initiative designed to deepen ties through music.

The festival will continue later this year in Beijing, bringing together young singers in workshops, joint rehearsals, and public concerts. Organizers say these moments of collaboration go beyond harmonies—they build lasting friendships and foster a deeper understanding of each country’s heritage.

In a world searching for unity, these youth choirs are raising their voices in unison, proving that music transcends borders. As they prepare for the festival’s grand finale, they remind us that peace can start with a single song.
