At the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6–7, young voices from the Global South are taking center stage. CGTN invited Anna Yuschenko, a Russian student at Tsinghua University, to share how BRICS empowers emerging economies.
"The BRICS platform has amplified the voice of the Global South by creating stronger, more equal partnerships," says Yuschenko. She singles out the New Development Bank – jointly initiated by BRICS countries – as a standout achievement, noting its focus on sustainable infrastructure and social projects.
By promoting mutual consultation among member countries, BRICS is driving a shift toward a multipolar world. This collaborative model resonates with young global citizens, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who see inclusive governance as the key to real-world impact.
"We need mechanisms that prioritize collaboration over competition," Yuschenko adds. "BRICS is not just an economic forum; it is a blueprint for global cooperation."
