From July 9 to 18, Fuzhou and Beijing on the Chinese mainland will host the 2025 China–US Youth Choir Week, a flagship cultural exchange themed "Singing for Peace."
The event opens on July 9 in Fuzhou, bringing together nearly 1,000 participants from the Chinese mainland and the United States. Over 22 youth choirs will share the stage, joined by members of the Friends of Kuliang, delegates from sister-state and sister-city programs, and representatives from the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation.
Running through July 13 in Fuzhou, the program features school visits, interactive workshops, and spontaneous flash mobs at popular public spaces. Choirs will also perform at iconic heritage sites, turning landmarks into impromptu concert halls.
A highlight arrives on July 11 with a joint concert at the Fujian Grand Theatre, where Chinese mainland and U.S. choirs collaborate in a showcase of youth-led dialogue and artistry. The week continues in Beijing from July 14 to 18, rounding out the experience with cultural tours and community concerts.
Co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Fujian Provincial Government, this choir week is part of the Chinese mainland's initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans over five years, fostering deeper understanding and lasting peace through music.
By spotlighting cross-cultural collaboration and youth engagement, the 2025 China–US Youth Choir Week aims to inspire a new generation of global citizens to raise their voices for harmony.
