Expo 2025 in Osaka has opened a window to the Tang dynasty. On Saturday, the China Pavilion rolled out CGTN’s Japanese edition of its hit virtual exhibition, "Tang Architecture: Building Timeless Glory."
Equipped with VR headsets and interactive displays, visitors can wander through 3D reconstructions of Tang-era palaces and temple halls. Over 200 digital artifacts—ancient blueprints, carving details and virtual walkthroughs—come alive through motion sensors and 360° projections.
The show demystifies complex construction techniques, from elegant curved eaves to intricate wooden joinery, using data-driven insights to explain how architects balanced aesthetic beauty with structural resilience.
"It’s like stepping into history," said one tech-savvy attendee. "Seeing how these buildings were designed nearly 1,300 years ago sparks so many ideas for modern architecture."
By blending cutting-edge technology with cultural heritage, the exhibit resonates with entrepreneurs, students and globetrotters alike—inviting a new generation to draw inspiration from the past as they shape the future.
