700+ Young Leaders Unite at Cross-Strait Youth Summit in Beijing

As dawn broke over Beijing on Thursday, more than 700 young leaders\u0012\u0012entrepreneurs, tech innovators, cultural creatives, and student champions\u0012\u0012gathered at the annual Cross-Strait Youth Summit. They represent diverse backgrounds from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, united by a mission to spark new ideas and deepen connections.

At the opening ceremony, Song Tao, head of both the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, highlighted the vital role younger generations play in national rejuvenation. "You are participants and promoters of national rejuvenation," he said, "and you will benefit from stronger ties and shared progress." He called on attendees to firmly oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and foreign interference, and to actively engage in cross-Strait exchanges and integrated development.

Via video link, former Kuomintang Chairman Ma Ying-jeou encouraged youth to embrace dialogue and collaboration. "By increasing exchanges and learning from each other, young people on both sides can open a bright future for the Chinese nation," he said.

Over the next three days, a dynamic lineup of forums will explore sci-tech breakthroughs, startup strategies, cultural integration, and sustainable practices. An exhibition hall will showcase collaborative projects that blend digital innovation with heritage arts, offering a hands-on look at how sci-tech and culture can drive shared growth.

Participants from leading tech hubs to cultural capitals say they hope to return with fresh partnerships and joint ventures. "This summit gives us a unique platform to build trust and turn ideas into action," says Li Wei, an incubator mentor from Shenzhen. "I'm excited to explore how teams across the Strait can co-create new solutions."

With a focus on real-world impact and inclusive dialogue, organizers aim to transform ambitious plans into on-the-ground projects that benefit communities across the Strait. Young changemakers are at the heart of shaping tomorrow's integrated landscape.
