China Calls for Peace Over Force
In a recent phone call, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed that China opposes settling disputes by force and consistently stands on the side of peace. Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss rising tensions in the Middle East.
Wang criticized recent strikes by Israel and the United States against Iran, calling them violations of international law that infringe on Iran's sovereignty. He said dialogue and negotiation are the fundamental way out, urging all parties to restart talks on an equal footing and steer the Iranian nuclear issue back onto a political track.
Highlighting the Palestinian question as the core of regional unrest, Wang called for renewed efforts to implement a two-state solution. His remarks emphasized the need for comprehensive policies that address both security concerns and humanitarian impacts.
For his part, Fidan stressed that Israel must embrace the two-state solution if it genuinely seeks long-term security and must halt the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. He added that Türkiye is eager to enhance communication and coordination with China, signaling a joint commitment to peace and stability across the Middle East.
This high-level exchange underscores a growing international push for diplomacy over military action, with both China and Türkiye advocating political pathways to resolve complex conflicts.
