The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held the Enlarged Meeting of the Twelfth Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea from June 21 to 23, with General Secretary Kim Jong Un presiding.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, participants reviewed this year's party and state policies and discussed radically accelerating the revitalization and modernization of major industrial sectors of the national economy.
Delegates also approved plans to convene the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK. No date has been set for the upcoming session.
Next steps and timing for the Ninth Central Committee will shape the WPK's agenda for the rest of the year.
