The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival's Belt and Road Film Week wrapped up last weekend with a fusion of cinema and culture across Shanghai.
Highlights included the Belt and Road Lifestyle Market, showcasing cross-cultural design, cuisine and innovation, and the “Travel with Films” series, where filmmakers explored stories inspired by historic trade routes.
Participants took curated tours of Shanghai's landmarks, from the winding alleys of Xinchang Ancient Town to international boutiques at Bicester Village Shanghai and contemporary installations at the Shanghai Pudong Art Museum.
At the closing ceremony, an international jury presented awards to documentaries, feature films and shorts that excelled in storytelling, cultural insight and creative collaboration across borders.
For young global citizens, business and tech enthusiasts, and thought leaders alike, the event highlighted film's power to spark innovation and social dialogue. Travelers and digital nomads found new models for immersive cultural exchange, proving that the magic of cinema extends far beyond the screen.
