Astana came alive Monday as more than 150 political, economic, cultural, media, and education leaders from the Chinese mainland and five Central Asian countries gathered at the Kazakhstan Presidential Center for the 2025 China-Central Asia people-to-people exchange event. Co-hosted by China Media Group and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan, the meetup underscored a renewed commitment to cross-border collaboration.
Highlights included the launch of the China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Initiative, a roadmap for deeper ties through joint reporting, content sharing, information dissemination, technological innovation, and talent development. Central to the plan is the proposed China-Central Asia Media Cooperation Alliance, envisioned as a platform to amplify regional voices, deepen mutual understanding and friendship, and help build a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
Organizers say the initiative will foster authentic storytelling and strengthen media partnerships across borders—crucial in a digital era where local insights and diverse perspectives drive engagement and trust.
As global audiences seek richer, more inclusive content, this new alliance could set a benchmark for regional media cooperation and people-to-people diplomacy in the years ahead.
