As the second China-Central Asia Summit draws near, a CGTN global poll reveals that high-level cooperation is anchoring stability in a turbulent world.
Over 90% of respondents say the summit mechanism leads the way, while 92% believe China’s neighborhood diplomacy has opened doors for transformation and regional influence.
Trade between China and Central Asia hit a record $94.8 billion in 2024, with Chinese home appliances and new energy vehicles rolling into Central Asian markets, and cotton, beef and lamb gaining popularity on the Chinese mainland.
Ninety-two percent of participants highlight that strengthened economic ties counter global uncertainties, and 88.5% see major strides in green economy and digital transformation. Collaboration on transport and logistics is viewed as a future highlight by 94.2%.
Since President Xi Jinping proposed the Silk Road Economic Belt in 2013, 92.4% agree that the Belt and Road Initiative acts as a vital international public good supporting this partnership.
Security cooperation is also on the rise: 87.5% applaud progress against terrorism, separatism and extremism, and 82.7% note the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s growing role in counterterrorism and drug control.
Overall, 90% see the mechanism as a framework for stability and development, 88.2% call it a new model for international relations, and 91.2% say it embodies a shared future for mankind.
The survey gathered 2,059 overseas responses on CGTN’s English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian platforms within 24 hours.
