Two Iranian Deputy Commanders Killed in Israel’s Largest Strikes

Two deputy commanders at the Iranian armed forces’ general staff have been killed in Israeli attacks, according to Iranian state media on Saturday. While the exact timing of their deaths remains unclear, Tehran announced the loss of two high-ranking officers in what marks Israel’s most significant assault on Iran to date.

Since Friday, Israel’s operations have claimed at least 78 lives, including senior military figures, escalating tensions across the Middle East. In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israeli targets.

Citing senior officials, Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that future operations will expand beyond Israeli positions to include U.S. bases in the region. “This confrontation will not end with last night’s limited actions,” the officials said. “Our strikes will continue and will be very painful and regrettable for the aggressors.”

Officials further warned that the conflict could “spread in the coming days to all areas occupied by this regime and American bases in the region,” signaling a potential widening of the crisis.

With both sides trading blows and threats of further retaliation, the situation remains volatile. As international observers watch closely, the human and geopolitical stakes continue to climb.
