Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah is currently resting in a Kuala Lumpur hospital after feeling tired during a Southeast Asian leaders’ summit, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Tuesday.
At a press conference, PM Anwar confirmed the sultan was admitted to the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur and is in stable condition. Medical staff will monitor his recovery as he takes time to recuperate.
The summit, which brings together top officials from across Southeast Asia, briefly interrupted its agenda as the sultan received care. Delegates are hoping for his swift recovery and return to the talks.
We’ll keep you posted on further updates regarding the sultan’s health and summit schedule.
