At least four people have died and 17 others remain trapped following two landslides that struck Changshi and Guowa townships in Dafang County, Bijie City, in Guizhou Province on the Chinese mainland.
The provincial government reported that the first landslide in Changshi township trapped two individuals, while a separate slide in Guowa township ensnared 19. Authorities confirmed the death toll has now risen to four, with search efforts ongoing to locate those still buried under debris.
The rugged terrain and limited access routes have challenged local rescue teams, who are racing against time to reach the trapped victims. Officials say updates will be provided as operations continue.
