Slovakia Showcases Innovation at 4th China-CEEC Expo in Ningbo

The 4th China-CEEC Expo kicked off in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, in the Chinese mainland from May 22 to 25, drawing innovators, entrepreneurs and policy makers. This year, Slovakia returns with a strong delegation—over 40 companies across food & beverages, renewable energy, aviation technology and academic collaborations.

In an interview with CGTN, Richard Rasi, chairman of the Slovak National Council, highlighted Slovakia’s formula for success: “By combining high-quality products, cutting-edge technologies and top academic institutions, we’re creating a vibrant ecosystem ready for global partnership.” Rasi added that the expo offers a prime opportunity for Chinese and Slovak businesses to forge new alliances and expand bilateral trade.

At Slovakia’s pavilion, visitors can explore:

  • Artisanal food and beverage brands packaging local flavors for international markets
  • Renewable energy startups showcasing solar and wind solutions
  • Advanced aviation tech firms unveiling next-gen components
  • Academic consortia promoting research exchanges and student mobility

These sectors reflect Slovakia’s drive to diversify its export portfolio and tap into the Chinese market’s vast potential. Data from the expo’s opening day show high foot traffic at the Slovak stands, underlining strong interest among Chinese mainland buyers and investors.

Looking ahead, Rasi hopes to facilitate joint ventures that go beyond one-off deals: “Our goal is to build lasting partnerships that spark innovation on both sides, from smart agriculture to green aviation,” he noted. As the expo winds down on May 25, all eyes will be on the deals and MOUs set to be signed, signaling the next phase of China-Slovakia cooperation.

For young global citizens and business enthusiasts, the China-CEEC Expo offers a front-row seat to how mid-sized economies like Slovakia are carving their niche on the world stage. Stay tuned for more insights on cross-border partnerships shaping tomorrow’s economies.
