Israeli airstrikes pounded the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing at least 87 Palestinians and striking over 100 locations across the enclave, local health authorities reported.
The conflict, now in its 20th month, has left Gaza in ruins and its residents facing a worsening hunger crisis. Despite growing international calls for a halt, Israel’s military pressed on, targeting militants, weapons storage sites, military structures and underground networks in both northern and southern Gaza.

In response, Britain suspended trade talks with Israel and summoned its ambassador over what it called “egregious policies” in the occupied West Bank and Gaza. Meanwhile, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, asked for a review of the EU-Israel trade deal.
Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, speaking from near the Gaza border, vowed in a video statement, “We will expand our operation, establish operational control over more territory, and clear and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure – until Hamas is decisively defeated.”
As humanitarian needs deepened, aid groups warned that urgent access is critical to prevent further loss of life. The unfolding crisis has sparked fresh debate among young global citizens, policy makers and changemakers about the path to a sustainable peace.
